This is the story of the dream of one J. H. He grew up in so. Cal. loving cars and had one car in mind since he was a kid. J.H.Holland's Blog

I had a dream when I was only eight years old. I wanted to own a Corvette stingray just like the one my neighbor had. I loved that car and dreamed about it often, even into adulthood. Well, my dream is about to come true. I found an old 1965 that had been the home to many cats in a friend’s driveway. He intended to repair it and restore it but time got away form him. So the car sat in his driveway for more than thirty-five years. I believe it was just waiting for me. The car is about 80% finished and expected to be on the road in only days. The process has been fun and very exciting. My good friend Russ and Donna Romick made arrangements to help bring my dream to life. The car had been in their driveway since 1972. Although the cats will have to find new lodging, Russ and Donna have been very gracious. Another good friend Brad Harmer, recently pushed into early retirement as a mechanic offered to assist in the restoration. Well, he is not assisting he is doing it. He has had experience in the restoration of many cars including a Rolls Royce from the 1920's that was used in the TV series Topper. He has also done hot rods like a 1970 Roadrunner. The project has stayed very close to budget, which I have Brad to thank for that. I have been kept out of the process, other than writing checks until recently. I literally lost my breath when I first saw it. I remember when I first went to Russ and Donna's to see only the potential of something great to come. I have to admit that the car, although still unfinished (see pictures) exceeded my dreams and expectations.

A man is not defined by the car he drives, but it won't hurt too much to slide myself into this beauty each and every day. My Corvette experience started in October of 2007, and should find the next stage of hitting the road in July of 2008.
I look forward to sharing this experience with all of my friends and family. "If you are going to have something you should use it and for heaven's sake share it." I feel very fortunate to have such a dream come true. Dreams really do come true. I have had patience and the rewards exceed all expectation.
Stay tuned for more up-dates to reveal the finished product.
